I hope everyone had a great sunny weekend. This weekend was spent catching up with an old friend, who recently moved here from Nevada along with endless mimosas. It started and ended with a sweet tooth. I used my Sunday for catching up on laundry and last minute shopping for New York. Here's a little recap from this past weekend -
A raspberry le grand macaron. I paired this goodie up with a mint tea from Tazo, I also was thinking of brewing iced tea with it but it couldn't wait I gobbled that goodie up quickly! Thanks Kita!
My first initial plan for brunch was to head to LA, but since I was running late on time I thought Old Town Monrovia would do. The Peach Cafe is a quick go to! My favorite is their french toast, but I wanted to try something different this time and went for one of my favorite breakfast dish the monte cristo sandwich. I loved the bread as it had a crepe texture around it. I was stuffed by only eating half! Until {brunch} next time!
During this particular summer day roaming around downtown LA and Grand Central Market I cooled off and browsed around The Last Bookstore. Boy oh boy, did I fall in love! I love the fact that you can sell your books there as well. What better way to share this venture on national book lovers day -
I could walk around, read, and browse for hours in there. As SJP as this sounds I do really adore the scent of old books. I mentioned to my boyfriend earlier that i've been creating a list of books I've been wanting to read. A trip back here and barnes & noble is due!

Before I craft I always have a concept in my head. Whether it was something that I thought of earlier or another day. My makeup guru pal Jo's birthday was coming up, so I decided to craft up a birthday card for her and have a night out to dinner. I was going through my card stock and came across this green patterned envelope set from Paper Source. After catching my eye on the envelope, I knew I wanted colors that complimented the moss patterned tone.
Everything I used was on hand.
- vintage rubber stamp, and paris washi tape is from Anthropologie.
- happy birthday rubber stamp is from Michaels.
- vintage card stock as background is from a gift from a scrap booking convention.
Other than light colors, I also love a good deep dark mustard yellow and forest/olive green don't you agree? Sounds like someone is ready for fall to come along.. ;)
Weekends are great for two things and can go two ways: relaxing and going out. This weekend i'm trying my best to lay low and have relaxing days with friends and boyfriend, before my upcoming work trip. Summer weekends have consists of birthdays, quick trips, driving into the sunset and through palm trees, with ice cream in hand.
One of my favorite summer celebrating was a birthday I help put together. Last year I put together a Chanel Themed Birthday or Trish. This year was much more simple, her theme and request was classic and effortless: Roses. For summer I instantly thought of lighter hues would set the tone in a dimmed light Champagne Room. The birthday girl went to the flower mart the day of and bought endless, dozens of pink and white roses and golds baby breath at such a reasonable price.
The day of the party I found medium size vases that complimented the ombre pink candles. To fill in empty space and complete the mood with candles, I scattered the color combined rose petals over the long farm style table.
It was an intimate and fun birthday to celebrate. Not to mention the cake that was inspired by Maison Des Fleurs. The red velvet cake was from a local bakery in Downtown Fullerton and boy it was delicious with the Rose floating around. I hope you had a great birthday Trish. Cheers!
