We just had a delightful Easter Brunch with M's family.  We've done all of our errands and things at home so the rest of today is spent relaxing and prepping for this week ahead (which most will take place in Downtown).  I'm still in awe that April is right around the corner which is my birthday month, and May counts for that as well ;)


The festive cookies shown above were gifts from a co-worker.  I couldn't wait for dessert so I had to have cookies for breakfast!  I also put together an "Easter Basket" for M's nephew.  This basket wasn't your typical bunny-eggs-pastel-type basket we bought things from: the Honest Company, Storm trooper goodies, and a Wine for mommy and daddy!

I hope you're enjoying the sun with family and loved ones with plenty of sweets and food!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  This past weekend was spent on shopping, venturing out to new places to eat, and entertaining guests at home.  Spring has sprung and i'm definitely feeling it already.  Since I had no time to pick up fresh flowers, I bought some light floral candles to light on the book-filled coffee table at home.  Here's a few stills from Saturday and Sunday.




Not shown above are the different thrift shops I went to, that I found such great goodies that I'll post soon!  I'm currently on a search for a black iron wall bottle drying rack.  This one from Oh Happy Day inspired me to do M's fitted caps like this.  I'm also keeping my eyes open for something above the bed, this little banner from wit&delight basically sums up grouchy mornings, or sleepless nights.  Possibly a trip to the flea market is wanted in the near future, any other suggestions?

Last year while staying in Joshua Tree with M, we spent a Saturday visiting different thrift stores.  From all the shops we went to, I only ended up with a vintage frame that M surprised me with, and crafting materials.  One of my favorite stops was the Ricochet Vintage Wear shop.  The scarfs and old leather purses out front seriously lured me in!!




It's interesting how in Joshua Tree there's more thrift/vintage shops that have a various display of outdoor trinkets you can choose from.  One of my favorites was the different old records are displayed as outdoor decor pictured above.  My favorite sightings at Ricochet were the $20.00 sunglasses, and old photos and postcards marked $2.50 and under.

Hopefully when the weather cools down again I can take another visit here and see all the new (old) goodies ;) Happy Thrifting!

A dear co-worker of mine, asked me to quickly put together birthday invitations for her daughter's 8th Birthday Party.  I asked what the theme of her daughters birthday party would be and she said "Tea Party!".  For the invitations she just requested them to be simple and I can put them together any way I'd like.  So I gathered all the materials I already had on hand so I just cut, stamped, and taped away!

What a perfect weekend to spend out about in the light sunlight and gloom.  Friday I had the day off work to get a few things in order, and I also had reservations for 1pm at Chado Hollywood.  My cousin D had only been to the one in Downtown LA so with getting things done at a reasonable time, we headed over to Hollywood (with not much traffic!).  She had a fruity green tea, as I had a Podera black tea.  

Happy March everyone! February ended with a bang as the wedding was this past weekend.  We spent two weeks finishing up crafting the centerpieces, and the day before I was at the venue setting up each table and propping.  I'm waiting for the photographs to be completed so I can share all the details here.  In the meantime, here's the perk of being a wedding planner..you get the best photos of the bride and groom!  This one was especially sweet ;)


I typically only hear cupcakes at a party especially baby showers.  When I heard the future Mrs. Marin's plan for the cake table to be surrounded by cupcakes it was hard to imagine. I thought cupcakes would not have much height and tons would have to be baked and made. She put together and spray painted cake stands at different levels, she had all her cupcakes and main cake in white and gold hues that went perfectly on the custom made rose table cloth.  I loved the concept of just slicing the cake and saving it, and passing only the cupcakes to guests.

It was such a delightful moment and not to mention the variety of red velvet cupcakes and fruit filling cupcakes were such a hit!  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs Marin it was such a pleasure to help you both! XO
