I've been to this bistro years ago, but wanted to re-visit with a dear friend Jay, who just moved back to Las Vegas from LA. I made reservations in advance as I didn't want to wait hours for brunch. The weather in Vegas was surprisingly cool (last weekend) unlike CA it was in the 100's! We sat outside and the ambiance was everything we needed at that moment! We ate, sipped on Bellini's, and cocktails all the while conversing and catching up on everything. Not to mention the overload on fries that were served as well!
The last time I was at Bouchon, I had smoked salmon, this time I ordered a Croque Madame which can never be cooked wrong. After our meal, we walked through the garden at the Palazzo, did a little shopping at the Fashion Show Mall, and headed back to the hotel room and hung out for the rest of the afternoon. Relaxing Saturdays (rarely) happen in Vegas!
Enjoy the first days of October everyone! Xo
Basically everyone is back in school now and getting the hang of things. If you follow me on my personal instagram you know I have 3 god daughters (2 twins and 1 teenager). I'm such a sucker for snail mail and I love sending mail. It's the feeling of getting a surprise in the mailbox. On the first week Jo (my teenage god daughter) started school I wanted to send her a little love! Her and I have similiar tastes in favorite colors so putting something together for her was not a problem!
Everything above is everything I had on hand already like the polka dot blank cards were from the dollar section in target. I wanted to add that quote from Alex Elle, because it's so important to give younger girls reassurance. I did not get much of that when I was younger so I want to make sure I imply that to my god daughters and everyone around me. Jo received the unexpected mail and it warmed my heart instantly. Can't wait to send her more goodies when Halloween, and the Holidays roll around. Oh and can't forget when she gets straight A's too!
See my other snail mail here.
Happy Friday everyone! and happy 2nd day of Fall!
It's been almost three weeks since I've gotten back from New York. I've been fortunate enough to have gone multiple times a year for work. I'm thankful to have a job that includes traveling bi coastal. Usually when going to NY I always stay in Chelsea, Manhattan. The location is central and everything is either a subway ride or uber ride away. I wanted to share with you a full day of food from all the yummy places I've eaten. Let's start with the most important meal of the day. BREAKFAST!

Cece introduced me to the Doughnut Plant. A few years ago while working in NY she opened up a box and said "take one, it's the best doughnut ever!" Ever since I took a bite of their PB&J I was hooked! Thankfully this location was on 23rd and less than two blocks away from our hotel. After getting ready, we headed out grabbed a box, and sipped on espressos. It was the perfect way to start the day!
Less than a 10 minute walk would lead me to where I would eat for lunch next. I've been to Burgers & Lobster last winter for a quick bite and just remembered how simple their menu was and how delicious their cocktails where! When going here a few weeks ago, I knew I had to try the lobster roll! They only have 3 things on their menu: Burger, Lobster, and their Lobster Roll. The drink menu however is endless!
I've always seen Eataly on my way to work but never tried it. A friend recommended that I go for dinner last year but never made it. This time around, since it was summer I knew I wanted to go for dinner as nights where a little humid and I was in need of wine and a good meal! From all the eating in NY I wanted something light to eat. The choices at Eataly made it difficult to chose one thing! I ended up eating a perfectly crafted salad, a little seafood, and the amazing pizza shown above. I had a scoop of their famous gelato but that didn't quite cut it for my sweet tooth! (They're opening an Eatly in Century City!)
For dessert (saving the best for last). You know I had to always get my favorite. This box of macarons from the Laduree in SOHO was special as they were celebratory macarons for my new position/promotion. There's always something about the atmosphere in Laduree, I can never get enough of it! I'll be sharing this lovely location and the one in Champ Elysse in Paris. All this typing about food is making me hungry. (Not to mention, THEY'RE FINALLY OPENING ONE IN LA at the Grove) What are your favorite places to eat in NY? I'll try it out when I go back in a few months!
I wish I could spend all day going to thrift shops and antique shops.. I WOULD NEVER GET SICK OF IT. During my travels in Europe two weeks ago, my dearest friend who is a Norway resident insisted we go thrifting. The thrift shops in Norway all say FRETEX and have the salvation army sign on it's hard to miss. Before heading to the National Art Museum we came across a thrift store right down the street. I kid you not, we almost spent two hours in there -
My best friend scored and bought a pair of shoes in perfect condition and really groovy floral top. This time around, I found a skirt but the price was a little too high. That's the only down fall in thrift shopping in Norway, the prices are not up to par like we have it here in the states. The skirt that I wanted to buy was almost $22.00 when I could find a similiar one here for less than $5.00. The pricing did not stop me for venturing the store and finding so many goodies! I loved how organize and color-coated it was.. It reminded me of a foreign GOODWILL.
Every week I'll try my best to post on my European Trip maybe i'll even include Paris in there as well!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. This weekend was spent on catching zzz's, spending time with my cousin before she moves into her dorm, and a family party celebrating my uncle's birthday. Work has been crazy and I've been playing catch up since getting back from New York and Europe. I'll be packing my bags again for a little trip this weekend but nowhere too far ;). I can't believe it's already Monday, and it's my Little sis's birthday. I call this close friend of mine my little sis as I've known her since she was 15/16, let's fast forward now (almost 10 years) - she's living the dream at work and at home and i'm endlessly proud of her. She works for a small business locally out of Seattle and I love how hands on she is with designing most of the cards, totes, and bags. I had to support her and buy a few things ;)
She also recently made enamel pins and i'm obsessed with this one! I probably have to place another order soon! Yes, I do make my own cards, but sometimes it's always nice to support small businesses and add my little touch to it ;) Again sis, i'm so proud of you and I will always forever support you and be here for you during your growth and struggles. Cheers to you and always hustle and stay humble. XO
During the warm summer nights we wanted to go somewhere cool for the weekend. Other than San Clemente, Venice, and Santa Monica we decided to spend the night in Redondo Beach. Everyone thinks the main attraction is the pier, but little do you know their boardwalk is exceptionally cute. The night we went, we were killing time before going to a graduation party on the pier, my best friend and her boyfriend met us up for dinner on the boardwalk and it was perfection!
There's many seafood places to eat but we wanted to get the freshness. We all decided that we would eat at Quality Seafood. It's nothing fancy, but it's all delicious. It's located center down the boardwalk, you basically order your seafood fresh and they'll steam, boil, fry it fresh in front of you. The eating style was like boiling crab so a lot of bibs, napkins, and butcher paper had to be used. Since I was going to a party later that night I was cautious of what I ordered and did clams, calamari, and chowder. Next time I go i'm going to get down and dirty with the lobster, and crabs!
After a successful dinner, we went right next door to the arcade. I loved the style! Very old, vintage signs everywhere and very bright. I couldn't help but snap a photo of our company ;) I would definitely recommend coming here for a date night or even a staycation during the weekend. As mentioned in my previous post, everything is a drive away!
What do you have planned this weekend??

Summer never really ends here in Southern California. We recently just a got a taste of the cold (low 70's). One of the many perks of living here other than the weather is everything is just a drive away including traffic.. One weekend some of my cousins, M, and myself stayed at a ranch/manor like with a view of Griffith Park. It was incredibly relaxing and defined the summer season at it's best. Of course, I thank rola for always having an eye and good taste in picking out places/venues.
I loved how open the house was. The lighting fixtures I fell in love with! Not to mention, the oasis of a backyard and the lions foot tub in our room! We enjoyed the heated pool, BBQ's, and swinging on the hammock during afternoons and sunsets. We even cooked up a perfect brunch! If you follow me on my personal ig, you'll see this adorable fluff ball appear in photos. M and I sometimes dogsit for his family which I insist, cause i'm obsessed!
Speaking of the last days of Summer, the only thing I didn't cross off my summer travels was Palm Springs.. Maybe that's a reason to squeeze in a last minute trip before fall starts!

Now we're back on track.. I feel like it's engagements and weddings galore (especially at my age). M is going to be groomsmen next month, and we had to send in our RSVP card. Since I knew the future Mr. & Mrs. personally, I wanted to add a little extra when sending the RSVP card back to them.
Not so long ago I picked up the "hey you!" cards at the dollar section of Target. The paint swatches I get whenever M and I need to grab something at Home Depot. I thought the paint swatch name and color went perfectly with the card and occasion. I'll be posting more things of how I pair, craft, and wrap with the paint swatches. Paint swatches are free, so why not! (Just like twine in the ikea parking lot).

back & settled.
That tile or saying is something I've been saying a bit too much as of late. I got back to the states almost a week ago. It's been a whirlwind rewind to almost three weeks ago, when I spent a week in New York. After New York I was back home for three days which consumed of laundry and re-packing. After three days I flew to Europe and spent a week and half in Norway and the Netherlands. Last week I got home from LAX and with M's traditions he surprised me with Orange and Yellow Lilies.
The first few days were hard as it's 9 hours ahead. Naps were irresistible but within a few days in, I managed. After coming home, I helped out my cousins in putting together their parent's anniversay party that was held this past weekend and was a success. It always feels so good to be with family. The next few weeks i'll be settling in my new position at work, and packing up my bags again for a little getaway to someplace close, but 4 hours away ;). After that, I feel that the time is just going to fly by again with fall and the Holidays coming in. Don't you feel the same way?
