hello november: fall/halloween at home.

November 03, 2017

Hope you all had a great Halloween.  I had on my gold cat ears , and black lipstick on, that's as festive as it's going to get!  During Halloween day we had a little potluck at work and in the evening I cooked dinner and passed out candy.  Now November is here and Starbucks has pulled out it's Holiday cups, and all retail stores have thrown up with Christmas decor, clothes, and accessories.  I will be starting my Holiday decor soon, but for now i'm trying my best to embrace the forgotten Holiday- THANKSGIVING!

I kept the fall decor very simple as I do each year.  M and myself went to a actual farm where they held a pumpkin patch and we picked out two little pumpkins to place on the console.  I love the stem of the pumpkins, they have so much character!  Since owls are one of my favorites, my antique brass owl lamp, and drawer knobs blended in perfectly for Autumn.  I had last year and this years Halloween cards on display, and candy was placed on a burnt orange vintage dish I got a antique store two years ago, along with a small vintage vase to fill up the caramel apple pops!

I thought lighting up my Ghost Rose candle from catbird would be the perfect touch to our cool evenings we've been having.  While record shopping a few weeks ago I tried looking for Halloween soundtracks or albums on record, which was no success. Although, I did find some for this Holiday season.  Adding in the penguin books that I have was the perfect touch and set the tone for all the warm hues I had going on for decor!

What do you have planned this weekend?  My best friend is hosting friendsgiving this coming weekend.  I've crafted up a few goodies to help spruce her little home in the woods (literally!).  I'm also already re-searching recipes on what dishes to cook for Thanksgiving, any suggestions?

Stay warm my darlings! XO
